Optimize what you have for AI, maybe even have a dedicated page that is not linked anywhere only for AI. We have on for our site here, feel free to copy the structure and method - https://about.aireadycmo.com
Interesting, thank you for sharing! Quick follow-up: how do you ensure AI pick this page instead of the others? And when designing this AI specific page, what's unique about the design - is it especially word-heavy and structured for this reason?
ai indexes about and info pages first to create overviews on brands so naming it as is helps. the structure is more word heavy and well-formatted better, designer is literally not important. we just asked claude to design it as it is with all other pages we have but if you upload a copy-only txt file, that should work as well. :D
This is honestly one of the best breakdowns i've seen on this. The "great decoupling" framing is perfect - we've been watching rankings hold steady while traffic drops for clients and couldn't explain it well til now. The shift from traffic to brand mentions as the new metric is gonna change alot of how we report success. Ran into this exact issue last month and your analysis makes way more sense then anything else out there.
Thank you for the insights- what actions or mindset shift do you think brand owners should take?
