We typically don’t cover rumors and teasers in The Current—reality has a habit of disappointing (looking at you, GPT-5). But the noise around Google’s Gemini 3.0 Pro release is getting so loud it’s impossible to ignore.
The leaked release date is October 22, and Google has been A/B testing the model in AI Studio, which means early users have been putting it through its paces. If even half of what’s hitting Twitter is real, this could be the model release of the year.
The creative output is legitimately jaw-dropping:
The model is composing original classical music complete with score notation, and it’s chillingly good.
One user generated a video with “continuously evolving mandala that represents identity formation” paired with “meditative drone music with binaural beats” and a “stream-of-consciousness narrative about self-discovery.”
Others are generating full websites with a design sensibility that looks like a generational leap beyond what existing models can do (see here, here, and here).
The UI work is striking—complex, functional interfaces so elaborate they’d take human designers weeks to conceptualize.
Even the vector graphics are pixel-perfect.
The usual caveats apply: cherry-picked examples always look better than the median output, and launch day rarely matches the hype. But if this is the new floor for creative AI capability, then the models you’re currently integrating into workflows are about to feel as outdated as ChatGPT-3.5 does today.
